Surajkund craft-fair has been host to ethnic Indian handicrafts product display by various artists across Indian and abroad. Visitors from far away places give the place visit in search of traditional handmade products. A perfect blend of traditional designs and modern techniques, Indian handicrafts are high in demand especially outside the country. The colorful stalls present you with varied handicraft products, paintings from dexterous hand of artisans from all over country. The craft spectrum ranges from mirror encasing embroidery, lace work, folk motifs on terracotta forms, metal and cane-ware, luster of silk fabric, traditional shawls, traditional toys, ethnic jewelry and hand loom products.

Handicrafts from States
Punjab brings the Phulkari embroidery, inlay work wood craft and cane craft, intricate rosewood carving, sandalwood from South India. 'Chikri' woodcraft of Kashmir and some very fine cane craft and Knatha work famous from West Bengal and North Eastern states are eminent in the fair. Delicate 'Sholapith' and 'Shital Patti' work come from Assam and West Bengal. 'Banjara' and 'Bunni' embroidery of Gujarat and Rajasthan, 'Suzni' of Kashmir and mirror encasing work along with the famous 'Chikankari' work of Lucknow are also exhibited. Captivating 'Phad' paintings of Rajasthan, the 'Kalamkari' of Andhra and Karnataka, temple paintings of Orissa, 'Madhubani' of Bihar are also on display during the fair all at one place. Handicraft metal section brings the tribal 'Dhora' work, classical South Indian metal grafts, ethnic brass ware and iron crafts, delighting collectors. Handicraft for floor covering includes the famous 'Namda' and traditional carpets, the 'Punja Durrie' of Haryana and Punjab, the woollen mats of Mirzapur and coir and rag carpets of south India.

Jewellery also decorate the fair stalls, all kinds of traditional and handmade jewellery are available such as oxidized, seashell decorations, semi-precious gems and agate stone work, delicate gold work and chunky silver jewellery attract lady visitors to the fair. Kids also have their time with handmade and unique toys in wood and cane, ply and mud make the young thrill with joy.
